Chevrolet launched the seventh-generation Corvette (colloquially called "C7") for the 2014 model year. Offered as a coupe and as a convertible, it offered a more user-friendly interior, a sharper-looking exterior design, and, significantly, the then-new "LT1" small-block V8. Production of the C7 ended in 2019.
The Z06 model arrived for 2015 with a supercharged V8, carbon fiber body panels to keep weight in check, wider rear fenders, and several chassis upgrades. It was also the first Z06 available with an automatic transmission, but this one retains a traditional stick shift. Chevrolet pegged the Z06's zero-to-60-mph time at 2.95 seconds in 2015.
Power comes from an "LT4" 6.2-liter supercharged V8, rated at 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed manual transmission.
